• The Rotary Bonspiel will consist of round robin games followed by divisional playoffs.

• The Rotary Bonspiel will be played under the rules of the Canadian Curling Club association for general play
• The 5 Rock rule/free guard zone is in effect
• All games are 8 ends
• All regular round robin games must be completed within the allocated 2 hour timeframe
• In the event of a tie during round robin play, skips shall draw to the button with sweepers
• In the event of a tie during playoff games, the teams shall play extra ends
• Winning teams are to record win/loss on the master score sheet situated in the Curling club lobby
• A hog bell and Donation box will be situated on both ends of the sheets with $1.00 voluntary contribution to Secret 3K for hogged stones during round robin games

All questions or disputes will be addressed to the event Chairperson Collin Georget and their decision will be final

• Following the completion of the first game played, all 4 team members shall draw to the button with sweepers. Team skill points will be tallied on the team sheets provided. The points tallied will be utilized for tie breakers in the round robin standings.
• All teams will play a 3-game round robin in their pool
• After the round robin, teams will be ranked 1-4 in their pools based on W/L and head to head record with ties broken via team skill points
• The top teams in each of the six pools and the 2 highest ranked #2 teams from all pools, 8 teams total, will qualify for the ‘A’ division playoffs. The ‘A’ winner will be declared the Bonspiel Champion
• The remaining second-place teams and the 2 highest ranked third-place teams from all pools, 6 teams total, will qualify for the ‘B’ division playoffs.
• The remaining third-place teams and the 2 highest ranked fourth-place teams from all pools, 6 teams total, will qualify for the ‘C’ division playoffs.
• In this manner, 20 of the 24 teams registered will advance to a single knock-out competition in the A, B, or C event playoffs

Trophy presentations will occur on Sunday afternoon for the Division Playoff winners.

In keeping with tradition, we are also honoured to hand out these special awards during our Saturday banquet.

• Good Time Charlie Award - This award is presented to the individual who “always has a cheerful attitude, like to have fun and enjoys a good natured prank”.

• Harry Jewel Award - This award is presented to the team that has demonstrated “over the top sportsmanship” throughout the bonspiel.

• Bonspiel Champion Award - this will be declared by the winner of the A event playoff. This team will be awarded the opportunity to represent Western Canada at the 2024 International Curling Fellowship of Rotarians which will be hosted in Peterborough, Ontario.

One set of ballots per team are provided in your skips registration package to vote on the Good Time Charlie and Harry Jewel awards.

Please complete and submit ballots to a box located in the curling club by Saturday afternoon.
